Basic OvSynch56 Schedule:

Day 0  2ml Cystorelin/GnRH given IM AM

Day 7  5ml Lutalyse given IM  in AM

Day 9  2ml Cystorelin given IM  after 4pm

Day 10 Inseminate by 8am

Example used often:  Start 1st GnRH on a Monday and end up breeding following Thursday.

*this is an updated ovsynch56 schedule - allowing 56 hours between injection #2 and #3 has shown to increase conception rates.

Basic ReSynch Schedule:

Day 0  2ml Cystorelin/GnRH given IM

Day 7  Pregnancy check animals

If pregnant - stop protocol - no more injections

If open--> Inject 5.0ml Lutalyse day 7.0/preg check day

Day 9  2ml Cystorelin given IM  after 4pm

Day 10 Inseminate by 8am

The advantage of this protocol, used in an aggressive breeding program, is that the cows are bred 7.0 days earlier than they would be with standard OvSynch. 

The initial GnRH injection does not harm or affect the pregnancy but it is imperative to pregcheck the animals before proceeding with the Lutalyse injection as it WILL abort the animals.
